GRACIE MARSDEN

Gracie is a proud Taiwanese-American and an avid collector of very fat cats from the pet shelter. She enjoys spending her free time knitting/crocheting, writing, and putting together puzzles with cats on them. Basically, she's an old lady.
Gracie is also the young adult librarian at the Marshall Public Library in Pocatello, Idaho. Her adult fantasy debut, BONES OF JADE, FLESH LIKE ICE, is slated for Fall 2026 release with PRH Viking. She's represented by the incredible Mary C. Moore at Aevitas Creative Management.
BONES OF JADE, FLESH LIKE ICE
(Fall 2026)

The House of Zhong butchered Yu’er, then scattered the remnants of her body among the pigs. Reincarnated as one of the mythical jing, Yu'er has the power to bless those that help her and curse those who cross her. She has become the most feared being in Kangzhu and begins to lose her humanity to the intoxicating power of being a jing.
It’s Xiaozhu, the only boy she ever loved, that gives her pause. Her love for Xiaozhu makes him the only person capable of turning her back into a human, but Yu’er isn’t sure she wants to relinquish the power she now has. As the two travel to find the people responsible for her murder, Yu’er has to decide whether to embrace remaining a powerful but inhuman jing, or accept becoming the human girl that Xiaozhu knows and loves.

Like Circe and The Snow Child, BONES OF JADE, FLESH LIKE ICE, is a dark fairytale that reimagines centuries-old mythology to examine what it means to be a woman with power.
